QUESTOR MEDICAL DEVICES, INC. RELEASES UPDATE OF THEIR AUTOMATED HISTORY-TAKING AND PHRASE TRANSLATION SOFTWARE.

Oroville, CA. March 21, 2005. Questor Medical Devices, Inc. announces the release of their automated history-taking software, “The Interviewer” for Windows XP and Windows 2000. The first version was released in 1988. The phrase translation capability will assist clinics and hospitals in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act which mandates that health care facilities receiving federal funds allow access to non-English proficient persons. A working trial version can be directly downloaded for $100.00 and the complete version sells for $7,500.00 and can be directly downloaded from the web site as well.

While comprehensive medical histories are generally the key to accurate diagnosis and maximal reimbursement, compiling those histories can be extremely time consuming. Automated interviewing speeds this process immensely, and is reimbursable.

The Interviewer questions patients in an easy-to-read format that begins with general questions and then branches to more specific questions depending on the patient’s responses. Three question sets are provided (General Health, Cold & Flu, and Depression). These paperless questionnaires are provided in English, Spanish, Hmong, Russian, Romanian, French and Japanese. Additional languages may be obtained at the cost of $2500.00 each.

The program provides a video display and hard copy of the patient’s responses sorted by system review categories and other standard medical record headings. This compact categorized report is suitable for direct inclusion in the patient’s chart.

In Summary, The Interviewer

  • Produces in-depth and thorough patient histories.
  • Is user-friendly for the physician and the patient
  • Requires no additional staff
  • Interviews patients in their native language and provide printed reports in English or their native language. This automated translation makes the practitioner compliant with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, which mandates that he/she provide access to non-English proficient persons.
  • Facilitates communication between physician and patient.
  • Saves the practitioner approximately $ 30,000 per year or more (depending on frequency of use) by allowing an upgrade in service code and automatically transcribing most of the medical history.
  • Prompts the practitioner to consider specific actions (laboratory testing, imaging studies, etc.) based on the patient’s responses.
  • Provides a searchable database of historical information and medications, essential for drug recalls and Quality Assurance surveys.

Their web site is www.questormd.com.
